MERF Launches Nationwide Campaign to Highlight the Importance of Breastfeeding

August is recognized globally as Breastfeeding Promotion Month, and this year’s theme, “Prioritize Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems,” emphasizes the need for collective action to support mothers and babies. In alignment with this theme, Medical Emergency Resilience Foundation (MERF), in collaboration with donors, government agencies, and key stakeholders, is leading a nationwide campaign to promote and protect breastfeeding practices.

MERF’s campaign includes a wide range of initiatives such as facility-based awareness sessions, community outreach and mobilization, inclusive engagement in underserved regions, and mass media storytelling to encourage behavior change. From Khyber to Karachi, MERF is working hand-in-hand with provincial health departments, frontline health workers, and community influencers to ensure that breastfeeding is recognized and supported as a national health priority.
