Director Finance

Faisal Riaz Abbasi is an accomplished finance leader with over 23 years of experience in finance, accounting, and audit. He possesses deep expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA), complemented by a strong track record across diverse industries and development sectors.

He began his career with Deloitte, where he spent five years in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, specializing in statutory audits, financial advisory, internal audits, and investigatory audits across sectors including power and energy, engineering, telecom, IT, NGOs, and construction. He later served as Finance Manager at a joint investment company established by the Governments of Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, gaining valuable experience in sovereign-backed investments.

Faisal has extensive exposure to the development sector, having worked with major international donors such as the EU, ECHO, UNICEF, WFP, Global Fund, GAVI, Gates Foundation and the World Bank. His expertise includes donor compliance, financial reporting, and audit management.

For the past decade, Faisal has served as Director of Finance at the Medical Emergency Foundation (MERF), where he leads financial planning, treasury, and accounting functions. He has successfully managed finances for more than 20 hospitals and healthcare facilities under public-private partnerships (PPPs), including DHQ hospitals in Orakzai, Waziristan, and Thatta, as well as THQs, RHCs, and other secondary care facilities in various districts in Pakistan.
Previously, Faisal held senior roles such as Deputy Director of Finance at MERLIN, Capital Finance Manager, and Finance & Audit Manager at ACF International Pakistan. His career reflects a consistent ability to strengthen financial governance, ensure compliance, and drive organizational sustainability.

Faisal Riaz Abbasi is our Director of Finance, bringing over 12 years of expertise in finance and accounting. He possesses a solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Standards on Auditing (ISA), US GAAP, and the Saudi Organization of Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA). He holds a CA (Inter) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and a degree from Punjab University.
