Chairperson BISP Senator Rubina Khalid Visits Benazir Nashonuma Center in D.I.Khan
Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, visited the Benazir Nashonuma Center at THQ Hospital Paroa , District Dera Ismail Khan. The center is being operated by MERF-Medical Emergency Resilience Foundation with the support of the World Food Programme (WFP).
During the visit, MNA, Fateh Ullah Khan Miankhel, and the Zonal Director BISP were also present. Provincial Manager MERF Benazir Nashonuma Program, Nighah Hussain Khan, WFP Field Monitor Aqeel, along with teams from MERF and WFP, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests upon their arrival.
Senator Rubina Khalid interacted with women beneficiaries at the center and reviewed the nutrition support services being provided under the Benazir Nashonuma Program, including maternal and child health related facilities and beneficiary support mechanisms. The beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the services and appreciated the efforts of the management and staff for ensuring quality service delivery.
On the occasion, MNA Fateh Ullah Khan Miankhel highlighted the need for establishing additional Nashonuma Centers in Dera Ismail Khan due to its large rural population, so that more underserved communities could benefit from the program.
The collaboration between WFP, BISP, and MERF reflects a continued commitment toward combating malnutrition in Pakistan and improving the health and nutrition status of mothers and children through community-based interventions and quality service delivery.
